Xeleum is a manufacturer that specializes in utilitarian fixtures but also has developed a wireless control system. During the commissioning, they provide a dongle that connects to a computer and contacts the fixtures it finds locally to set up programming. The technology is integral to their stairwell fixture and can be added to most of their fixtures as an add-on. [embed] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bTfq6gHz4U [/embed]
Sternberg
Sternberg Lighting has a new fixture they are releasing called Flight. They have developed a cooling rod system that helps the heat sink and allows them to use less material bringing the cost down from what it typically would be. There are two sizes available with varying mounting bracket options. Flight utilizes the soft view lens technology found in other Sternberg fixtures providing a highly efficient glare control lens option.
Con-Tech Lighting
Con-Tech Lighting stopped by with their 2" aperture downlights so we could take a closer look at them. They make their own optics in the factory and now have a 65° optic which had a soft cutoff when we turned it on. The optics are all interchangeable in the field. We noticed that with the square aperture, you will be able to see the corners when the application is 8' and below. The wall wash trim had a good spread and was high on the wall. With the adjustable accent, you have to take the whole housing down in order to rotate it.
Con-Tech now offers their standard driver that has the capability to do either Triac or 0-10V dimming from the same module with no extra cost.
At approximately $100 per fixture, these fixtures are a good option for an economical option. They are coming out with trimless versions next year.

Motolux
Forma Lighting is an international company with offices throughout the world. 90% of the manufacturing occurs in China with the other 10% occuring in Milan. Typically these fixtures have been specified in car dealerships, retailers, hotels, and atrium spaces, where the program requires flexibility in product lighting or high ceilings where fixtures are difficult to reach. The dedicated LED fixtures use Citizen modules. We saw a few of their products during their visit to our office. Motolux is a division of Forma Lighting that specializes in remote controlled motorized track heads. The track heads offer pan, tilt and rotating customization and can be modified using the remote controller or phone app. The pair mesh allows for up to 100 fixtures to be controlled together. Each fixture has a pairing receiver that is activated by pointing the laser from the remote controller. In the app, each fixture has an address provided by the manufacturer. The specifications are detailed like typical fixtures; however coordination with the manufacture is needed to confirm location and addressing of fixtures.
Some of their best selling products are the fully motorized track heads with lamp by other, coming in under $200 DN with a $40 remote control sold seperately. The MotoZero is one of their more attractive dedicated LED fixtures coming in at about $520 DN. They also offer recessed multi-head gimbals that are fully motorized as well. In the near future, we will be seeing adjustable motorized beam spreads ranging from 8° to 80°; as well as in ground fixtures.

What a success - congrats to them!New York Digital is the NY rep for Acuity Brands, as well as many decorative and hospitality options. They are also the NY rep for Barrisol (stretch ceiling material) and Lumafilm, to work behind it.

G Lighting
G Lighting is a company based out of Missouri. They specialize in LED fixtures featuring static white, color tuning, and tunable white technology. They have a wide range of standard products that are mostly made with acrylic, however, they are open to customization. The Orbis is a circular ring pendant fixture that has a unique profile from what we see from other manufacturers with a portion of the inner lit lens sticking below the outer band.
Another unique thing we discovered about G Lighting, is that because they have their own facilities where they manufacture everything themselves, they sometimes do renovation and replication projects. They have a series of traditional fixtures they offer, but can also do replications from scratch.
Liteline
Today Litelines came to visit our office to show us some of their new and updated product lines. They are a family owned and operated company based out of Toronto. Their focus is on interior lighting. Providing multiple recessed down lights, cove lights, step lights, track and under cabinet lighting options.
The Slim Series is a low budget recessed downlight product line they offer. All recessed downlights they provide are canless. Instead they have a large plate with an attachable driver, making an easier installation process on site. The Slim series include Slim Classic, Pro, Indirect and Luna.
The Slim Indirect can dim to warm, dimming from 2000K - 3000K. One question we had was at what angle someone would be able to see the nodes, which are slightly visible on the side of the curve at. This would be helpful if we were to spec the product.
The Slim Luna is a new, cheaper alternative to their most popular series, Sigma. Adjustable recessed downlight with a 45 degree beam spread. They do not provide a Solite lens as of now, but it is in the works. It costs around $40-50 per fixture.
All their standard product has a 120V driver with an ELV dimmer that can dim down to 5-10%.
The Forum LED Panel light has two dip switch on the driver allowing user selectable 3000 K, 3500 K or 4000 K color temperature, site selectable watt and output. It sits flush within the frame, and is provided at a 110 degree beam spread, a 0-10V dimmer, 85 CRI and it can dim down to 10%. 2' x 2' costs around $65 and 2' x 4' costs around $85.
They also offer a zoom series track fixture, adjustable from 18 degree beam spread to 50 degree beam spread. It comes in 10W, 20W, 30W, and 40W. It is also dimmable to 10% as well. There are other track head series as well, with a nice set of accessories.
Generation Brands
Generation Brands visited our studio the other day to keep us updated on their 2017 products. Tech Lighting is the first line they showed. Being a market research company, they evaluate how well the fixtures do in the market and depending on sales may expand the line.
The Akova is one of their releases that has done well, it is now available as a sconce, pendant, and flush mount. All fixture types are available in 3 different finishes, aged bronze in a bright bronze trim, matte black in a bright brass trim, and matte white in a chrome trim.
Mina is another one of their more popular fixtures, it has laser etched optic crystal to create a floating orb within. Down firing LED's are hidden within the socket. It is also available in an aged brass, polish nickel or black finish, with a variety of different cord colors as well. The pendant can be bought on its own or in a cluster of 3, 7 and 11.
From Element, Merge is their recessed linear system. Glare-free, continuous 3-inch channel of LED indirect illumination. It can make 90 degree turns on the same plane as well as transition from floor to ceiling. Spot lights can be placed anywhere across the channel and because it is a part of the LBL and Tech Lighting, any pendant from both lines can be also be incorporated into the fixture.
Reflections is a decorative recessed downlight that is also a part of Element. Available in flanged or flangeless in 5", 8" or 12" apertures. They currently have 5 different dome designs that are 3D printed however they can do a customized designs as well. It is not available in RGB as of now. Reflections is popularly used in home theatre because it is glare free and dims well under 200. The price for the 5" aperture begins at $125.00.
Element also carries a 2" LED adjustable downlight and wall wash.
Vode Lighting
Vode Lighting specializes in small scale LED extrusions. They stopped by our office to give us a closer look at the extrusions they offer. For most of their fixtures, they are available as a 2' fixture with 1' increments up to 6'. They all require remote drivers, with standard dimming to 1% and can be provided with 0.1% dimming for an adder. The driver can be located up to 72' away. An interesting feature to Vode's fixture is that they are all made from recycled aluminum. There are two LED boards with LEDs from Nichia. The zipper board is a tightly spaced LED board for even illumination. The button board has a wider spacing and is used with optics.
The Zip 1 was originally designed with a slim profile perfect for undercabinet installations. It features a glowing side on the diffuser to push light onto the back of the vertical surface. It can be installed with magnets or tape.
The Zip 2 takes the Zip 1 form factor and includes lens accessories to customize the fixture including a glowing lens extrusion and an aluminum extrusion with a lens on the bottom. There is also a mounting clip that allows you to mount to the bottom of the t-bar ceiling structure with either a flat diffuse lens or an asymmetric lens.
Zip 3 is a wall mounted fixture that is designed to be a direct/indirect distribution. There is a bracket for new construction that allows for a trimless installation, and a surface bracket for existing or wood surfaces. The mounting height and the width of the fixture actually block the surface bracket from view.
