The Wall grazer, part of the PG4 Series.

We liked the grazing!

  • What we also noticed was the optic is a little greenish. Perhaps because of the silicon lens!
  • As it can be seen in this photo, the light is located 4”-5” away from the wall which causes a nice 15° light distribution on the floor.

Square Series

  • The illuminated dropped lens can be popped up too for indirect lighting

Artemide

Artemide visited the office today. We looked at their Alphabet of Light line. Artemide's Alphabet of Light line consists of three sections:

  • Alphabet of Light (letters)
  • Alphabet of Light Linear
  • Alphabet of Light Circular

The product that we looked at (shown below on the left) is from the Alphabet of Light Linear product line.

The letters are 360 luminescence. They stem out from the wall but they are still ADA compliant. They require a remote driver. More than 1 letter can be connected to a driver. Letters would be a foot shorter than shown (4' sample shown however, letters are 3').

* Currently surface mounted. A pendant option will be available later this year.

Twice Bright

Twice Bright

We looked out their double Density LED strip

  • It has the highest output and density.
  • Priced very competitive (DN pricing of $8 to $10 per foot)
  • In field assembly
  • If specified in 30 feet and longer, it will be prefabricated with extrusion in factory with cost of around $20 to $25 (DN pricing).

Linkable LED:

  • It can be fed only in 1 way, 24V, 1’ increment.
  • Optional touch switch: On/off
  • Max of 12 fixtures can be linked together.

  • They offer a hard 90º connector for linking in the corners.
  • This fixture is more expensive compared to LED tape. It is used for times when we have gaps between liners. for example when there is a cabinet with 12” spacing the connectors can be used.
  • It is a flexible LED, bendable in both axis (2 separated types) with seamless colors.
  • Available for flat surfaces with the LED board on the side.
  • Available in 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, RGB, and RGBW.

Dome

  • It is an addressable RGB LED with a neon appearance. It can’t be used for a pool like fiber optics can.

Twice Bright

Twice Bright come to the office today.  We started by looking at their Puraluce Range. Puraluce is the mid-high end range. Everything is made to order. All remote driver. They make outdoor and step lights.

Smart

This is a good path light option.

We also looked at the Step (left image), the Viewer (upper fixture in right image), and the Walker (lower fixture in right image).

TL Series

This series is a good neon replacement. It is side-emitting tape. You cannot see the nodes when it is in the extrusion.  There is a 32.8 ft max length per driver. This fixture is field cuttable.

Twice Bright Tape

There is a 5 meter minimum for custom CCT tape.

Linkable Light

This product is low voltage but not stocked in 2700K.

Eureka

Eureka stopped by today to discuss their pendants and downlights.

Monk

This product is made of thick, machined glass. 3,000K is the lowest CCT unless it is specifically modified. However, 2700K and Dim to Warm options will be coming soon. The lead time for this product is 4-6 weeks.

Prince

This product is backlit and is made of the same style of thick, machined glass as the Monk. Available in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.

Twin

There are many mounting options for the Twin including:

  • Surface mounted
  • Semi-Recessed
  • Pendant Mounted

Compass

This product has an illuminated outer ring. Available in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.

Eureka also makes sconces and have a range of other downlights. Some of their down lights are bathroom rated. They offer good low-cost retrofit options.

Optic Arts

Optic Arts stopped by the office today show show us some new products. FLEX ACv2- Line Voltage Strip

The FLEX ACv2 was the first fixture we looked at. This fixture is unique because it has silicone encapsulation. Silicone has never been rated for fixtures, so Optic Arts is the first. Silicone retains integrity over time. It is also more environmentally friendly. Another positive aspect of silicone is that it works with saltwater (keep in mind that the hardware still does not). However, the silicone is not field cuttable because it is a line voltage fixture.

Some other things to keep in mind with this fixture:

  • This will be an IP67 system as of this October.
  • Optic Arts will correct any unintended color shifting.
  • The LEDs will be symmetrically spaced unlike the photos show.
  • The fixture has full range dimming. If there is a discernible flicker, it is less than 30%.

The image shows the 3,000K fixture. 3,000K is delivered with the shift accounted for.

We were also shown a knife edge cove fixture. The low voltage strip was in the example shown.

We also looked at the Vintage Dim fixture and the Nitelite Closet Rod (below) so we could look at them while specifying for a project.

The Nitelite Closet Rod is not completely node free- it does have a distinct line, but you do not see individual nodes with this fixture. The strip inside is cuttable every 2 inches. This fixture can be field cut. A cover for the screw holes can be available upon request. There is plastic on top of the fixture to help avoid scratching from hangers. If necessary, the fixture can be made with the STP tape instead of the FLEX DC tape.

The Lighting Group

Today The Lighting Group joined us in the office to show us some new Acolyte products. Acolyte has a new series 2 tape light. The classic tape is still available but it is being phased out.

The diodes are closer together. The new products emphasize more lumen output and less wattage. Specifically in 5w/ft. and 6w/ft. you cannot see the nodes. However, the lower you go in w/ft., the more noticeable the nodes are.

The Lighting Group also showed us some of the decorative fixture lines they carry such as: Innermost, Parachilna, and B.lux
