Lumetta

The Lumetta stopped by our office today to give an update.

What was interesting about their products is their fabric. They offer fire rated, washable, and Anti-microbial (resistance to microbe growth) fabric for a range of their products which make them a great option for hospitality and medical center. They also have a wide variety of colors and textures to choose from.

TAPER L2:

A pendant and surface mounted product with 2 opaque shades. The Outer shade is washable and the inner one is acoustic.

  •  6' power cord, three suspension cables, and ceiling canopy.
  • Suitable for damp locations.

ECHO:

Erco

Erco stopped by our office today to present their updated and new products.  

COMPAR:

A recessed luminaire system with a narrow profile, shallow recessed depth, and different light distributions. It comes in 3 cells up to 24 cells. The 3 cell is available in 6W, 3000K standard, 30° and 70° light spread.

  

  • Black and silver are standard finishes. (optional Erco white is available, RAL 9006)
  • Start at 60° up to oval wide, oval flood, and lens wallwasher.
  • IC rated housing for different ceiling thicknesses max to 1" and flush mounting for 1/2" to 1" ceiling thickness.
  • 0-10V, DMX, and Dali dimming system

*It has a very sharp clear cut off wall wash (minimal dark area from edge of the wall) and requires a minimum distance of 4" from a wall.

OSERIS:

It is the new track head with a joint for angle adjustment. It comes in 2w, 4w, 6w, and 12w.

  • Spot, flood, and lens wallwasher.
  • Available in black, white, and silver finishes.
  • Standards 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K (new)
  • New recessed Track feeder is flangeless.

They presented the flood light model with 6W - 12W, 360lm up to 1650lm, 2700K, and 3000K.

Prolume

Prolume stopped by to present their new products. They have custom manufactured LED strips and in house manufactured LED board.

 

They use 2-step binned LEDs from Cree and Nichia LED chip, ranging from 2200K up to 6000K, 4° light spread.The 5" segment is the smallest they can do in LED strip.

They presented a custom fixture using series CLA fixtures. (It's great for illuminating high ceilings and has 1ft increment).

  

  • Initially developed for "National Archives Museum".
  • 3 different optics. Spot, medium flood, and flood
  • Mounted in a custom cradles.

* They use custom designed hi-flux LED (CREE XLamp, XP-E LEDs) to achieve 2850K

*  Each LED bin they use are only one color and brightness group and is uniquely identified by a bin code.

 

 

Duo CS:

A low voltage linear luminaire with an extruded aluminium body.

  • Available in 27K, 30K, 35K, 40K , 50K, and RGB.
  • 150° built in articulation and 115° light beam.
  • Available in white powder coated and anodized aluminium finishes. (opt for custom finish)

They are considering to have this product as a hanging rod for closet (the aluminium part is not scratch proof!) and wet listed.

 

They have an interesting vivid pink LED product.

LEDI

Today we looked at the LEDi products in the office. They make linear LED strips. There are many reasons to distinguish them among other LED manufacturers:

A dimmable, surface-mountable fixture with frosted lens (50%), 24V, 3w/ft and aluminum channel. It is perfect for lighting up cabinets and coves that need light at a 45 degree angle.

    

  • 2700K: (289 lm/ft) up to 4000K(333 lm/ft).
  • MLV, Incandescent, and 0-10V dimming options.
  • Available in 2ft, 4ft, 6ft, and 8ft standard lengths.

**For the pricing, the LED tape is priced cheaper and very competitive to what we normally use.

VIBIA Lighting

We looked at 3 new products from Vibia Lighting in the office today:

Algorithm:

A sphere shaped LED product suspended at different heights and attached to the ceiling via a floating tubular structure.

  

  • Standard 2700K (opt for 3000k and 3500K with a minimum order.)
  • Adjustable aircraft cable (the tubular structures are pre-cut in desired lengths.)
  • Hand blown Glass.
  • Acrylic diffuser.

The Flamingo:

A decorative pendent great for ambient lighting.

  • 2 × LED 5.6W,  delivered 1102 lm
  • standard 2700K, 80+ CRI
  • Acrylic diffuser.
  • Aluminium housing is available in matte gold, matte white, and charcoal gray matte finishes.
  • 0-10V, Dali and Lutron Eco dimming options.

Mayfair:

 

  • A surface mounted pendent, a table lamp, and a floor lamp fixture with direct/indirect light distribiution.

Sonneman

Today we have reviewed the Sonneman's new products in the office.

They have presented the Suspenders from the decorative family. It comes in different pre-configurations such as linear, zig zag, tandem, tri bar,...

It' good to remember that the components are very delicate and require a lot of care at the time of installation.

The component includes a power bar, hanger and luminaire. this system offers direct/indirect lighting, aimable light spread hanged with aircraft cable.

The power bar accommodate variety of  luminaries types and distributions such as:

  • Drum (etched cased glass, 3w.)
  • Cylinder (50°, 5w, up or down lighting.)
  • Light-bar (linear light, 10w, up or down lighting.)
  •  Crystal chiclet (2w, it can be installed horizontally or downward.)

 

The Constellation fixture

The Kit can be apart and includes:

  • 2 LED heads.
  • 4 different configurations.
  • Remote constant current driver.
  • 15 different lengths.

From the commercial family they have presented the ALC, flush and semi flush mount.

It comes in 2" and 3"  diameters with 3 different lengths integral LED, standard 3000K, 25° narrow flood lens, 1060 lm/10 watts and 2110 lm/ 20 watts.

Tik-Tak is an interesting tandem LED pendent with suspended rods in multiple level (up to 6 tier). It is great in residential and hospitality projects. Each rod can be independently positioned as up or down light, and adjusted with infinite variability to any height along the suspension cables.

It has 10' adjustable cable, 47" fixture's width, 2288 lm/20 watts, 3000K and 90 CRI.

Double Corona

An LED ring pendant available in 6" (580lm/8w), 16", 24" (3170lm/51w), 32", 48" and 60" diameters. It has just 1 LED board to achieve a uniform distribution, 6' adjustable cable.

It can be installed in a max 30° slop ceiling.

Thin-Line

A one sided LED wall bar and pendent, suitable for damp location. It comes in  1" height, 3' (1110lm/ 10w),4', 6' and 8' lengths, down and up/down distributions,  110V, ELV remote driver.

3G LIGHTING stopped by our office to present some of their new products.

MADISON Family

Elegant, recessed  luminaries designed for continuous runs for a variety of ceiling types. Available in linear, right angle, square, and rectangle configurations with square and round aperture.

 

It comes with the following options:

  • Citizen LED chip
  • 3 standard colors; black, white and paintless.
  • recessed, mounted and pendent  with trim and trimless options.
  • aluminium flange screw into the housing
  •  Standard (80+CRI). Optional (90+ and 97+CR)
  • 1', 2',3' and 4' lengths with continuous run option.
  • applicable in wood ceilings with mechanical.
  • quick connectors on all product for ease of adding accessories in the field.

The round shape can be configured as 2 heads, side by side. The 50mm size has 3000lm and the larger one, 70mm has 5000lm.

 

They have a 5 to 7 days turnover for typical drawing for RCP with mechanical, sprinkler and duct.

A great feature in continuous runs is, that the heads are lockable and can slide within the channel for maximum adjustability and flexibility. (12" to 18")

The DL3500 cost around $135 and the DL4500 cost around $165 to $170, delivers up to 4000Lm. both fixtures have Osrom driver, 0-10V down to 1%.

Also, by using a screw driver the head can be rotated 360° and tilted 40°.

LINA

The Lina is another linear fixture comes in 2" and 3.5" with extruded lens, glued cap ends. The 2" is the deepest drop lens which they can do for the linear family.

The 3.5" costs around $55 to $65 and has 10 days delivery turnover for delivery.

The 1" and 2" dropped lens, flushed lens. The LED tray hinge for easier access to the electronic parts behind the board.

D Lina is another configuration in their continuous run linear family which is a combination of linear + down light.

6", 12" and 24" on center placement.

KUBO

This fixture has been developed from corner light. It has the following options:

  • Linear and square shapes with different mounting options.(6", 8", 12" single square, 8" and 12" vertical, 10" multiple, etc.)
  • Available in 27K, 30K, 35K, and 40K
  • A 12" LED board in linear option.
  •  Standard 4' x 4' in size and upto  4' x 8'.
  • Aircraft cable in pendent model
  • Additional RGB and RGB-W options.
  • Flush lens from 1" to 7".

 

They offer different variation in drop lens and if different sizes are required to be used in one space, they will match the driver power to each dropped lens fixture to maintain a uniform illumination among the fixtures.

RUBO

A round fixture with white sandblasted acrylic diffusers. It is available in various lenses (flush and 1" t0 5" drops), surface mounted and recessed on various grid, drywall and wood ceilings, 80+ CRI and 27K, 30K, 35K, and 40K color temperatures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New York Digital Lighting Show

At the New York Digital Lighting Show manufactures presented their new products and we've highlighted some of them here. Impact Architectural Lighting

The Yo.Yo comes in 12" and 16" diameters and 14 powder coat paint colors. Direct/indirect lighting (optional back light with porcupine lens)

The Slikk has an interesting  hour glass figure. It has a glossy white acrylic diffuser, custom LED board in 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K (80 CRI).

They offer 4 weeks quick ship for a customized finish.

 

Barrisol

 

Barrisol is a leader in stretched ceiling, wall, and any back lighting with a wide variety of 3D patterns, textures and recognized artist's prints to choose from.

 

The Acoustic light is Acoustically managed general lighting ceiling system which provide an efficient reduction noise coefficient. (diffiser and then LED diode system on top gives general illumination membranes and track system.)

Barrisol uses 2 layers of  membranes and systems, printed translucent sheets for 3D printed ceiling or wall back lighting to achieve a more realistic appearance.

Barrasol system can be installed with cove and  translucent ceiling.

They also offer a concrete finish design (print concrete on a translucent surface and back light it).

The biggest sheet of printing 3 sizes 17, tall 3000ft length 10foot translucent Normal barrisol is 8’

 

Luceplan

 

The Archetype is cone shape fixture with a 12.2" aperture, an Aluminium painted body, a polycarbonate silkscreened shade.

 

The Honeycomb has hexagonal modules in groups of 3, Clip-in connection, form a self-supporting, direct and indirect lighting , 0-10 Dimming system, 2700K and 3500k color temperatures, and the driver is placed in canopy.

Their fixtures are all manufactured in overseas and stocked in US. Therefore, lead time for available items in stock is  5 to 10 business days and for customized products or not in stock, it takes 4 to 5 weeks production time and 2 weeks delivery to job site.

 

ASTRO LIGHTING

Their reading and bedside lighting products have a minimalist look and great range of sustainability.

The top right side one comes with on/off switch and the left side one is non-switched. The fixtures have built in driver, 2W, 80lm, 3000K, 330º rotation, 90º tilt adjustable angle.

The Tosca and Digit reading lights have integral jamb switches so they will automatically turn on/off when opened and closed. The Tosca has 1W, 61lm, 80CRI, 2700K, 180º rotation and 135º tilt adjustable angle. The Digit is similar to tosco with the exception of higher output of 3W and 114lm.

 

Lumafilm

The luma film LED panels can be used in conjunction with the Barrisol system. It has minimal thermal output, great for thin spaces. It can be cut smaller or connected in tiling.

It is available in White tuning, RGB W ( the W can be selected) Usually the 1.9watt/ft with 3000K 350lm/ft con go up to 40watt/ft with 5000K and 4000lm (It is field changeable.).

It can go down to 0% on a 0-10v dimming system depending on driver for performance.

 

CarlStahl

The X-Tent is an outdoor rated stainless steel mesh fabric. It forms a diamond pattern as it is installed. Diamond sizes range from 20mm to 200mm and cable diameters from 1.0mm to 4.0mm and has 60 m/200ft expanded length.

The X-LED is an LED module system designed for the X-Tent and has the following features:

  • 1 side or 2 sided light spread.
  • 50ft span.
  •  compatible with DMX programming
  • Each node is individually addressable.
  • Clear and frosted lens options. (Frosted lens seat over the clear lens)
  • 37mm on center distance for vertical version.

 

They design and enginer everything and it costs around $250 with everything per 100mm spacing . For half of this spacing, the price goes up by 4 times.

 

Diode led

This company make the driver and LED chips in house. They have 10 years warranty for LED and 5 years for drivers.

The Neon Blaze LED strip has up to 250 lm/ft, IP68, 100w remote driver. It is available in variety of options such as:

  • horizontal and vertical installation
  •  Side and top emitting flexibility.
  • 2400K to 6000K and RGBW.
  • Potentially acceptable for harsh and extreme conditions (hot sauna)
  • Fully or partly diffused.

The LED Strips:

Fully dimmable adjustable clip on LED strips, 24v.

It can have occupancy sensor( hard wire has junction box with sensor attached to it)

Standard dimming down to 5%, 0-10v, Lutron system.

Cost wise, it is comparable and even less expensive than Lumini.

Lucent

Today we looked at Lucent's new products.

TubeLED:

A track, surface mounted mono point or pendent cylender LED spot light.

We looked at 3 of them:

  • The Nano (20mm diameter, 1.4w to 2.6w, 70-210lm, 15°, 25°, 30°)
  • The Micro (40mm diameter, 6.3w, 550lm, 15°, 24°, 36°)
  • The Mini (60mm diameter, 6.3w, 744lm, 12°, 24°, 36°)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    

  • The hex louver finish could match or be different than the fixture finish color. (copper, gold, black)
  • trimless, round or rectangular shape, track system.
  • Wall sconce is coming out soon. (end of 2018)

Line26 Cube:

  

Multi LED downlight with cube baffle with die cast housing and minimal trim (trimless is also available)

SLV Lighting

Today, we looked at some of the  new products from SLV Lighting.

TRIA Family:

   

A 1" (620lm) and 2" (1150lm) recessed light with the following options:

  • round or square aperture
  • 27K, 30K, 35K CCT
  • 15°, 25°, 40° beam spread
  • 0-10V dimming down to less than 5%.
  • Variety of reflector finishes like white, black, gold, and dark blue (very interesting).

Tria only comes with an overlap trim.

 

 

INSPIRA Family:

A recessed adjustable downlight with  3"open aperture, 14W power, approx. 667lm, 60° light spread, and the following options:

  • round or square aperture.
  • smooth or rigid baffle.
  • variety of colors including White, Black, Steel Nickel and Bronze.
  • Triac ELV driver

This fixture costs around $40. (DN)

OCCULDAS Family:

  

 

A ceiling mounted luminaire with indirect lighting. It is available in 5" diameter (8w, 3000K, 750lm) and 9" diameter (13w, 3000K, 850lm). The 5" has directional option with 25° adjustability.

The Structec LED

  

It comes in 2 options of surface mounted monopoint and track head with full rotation to aim light where needed. It is available in black or white finish, 24 watt (2200lm),  31 watt (4000lm) with 36° and 60° light spread.

The small track head comes with different accessories.

    

They ship from Florida and there is a 10 days lead time for custom color and 2 days for delivery.

FLATZ Family

A surface mount low profile luminaire with an architectural look and low glare optics. It comes in 4", 6" and 8" round and square shapes, 700 to 1200 lumens, standard 90 CRI with 2700K and 3000K options.

This fixture is wet listed and also is a great option for closet lighting and utility room.

We took a quick look at their 3N1 Under-cabinet lighting. It has a switch to change the color from 2700k, 3000k, and 4000k (mood setting). It is available in white and bronze, 12" length, and hard wired.

 

FSL

Today, we looked at the FSL backlighting products.

From the component (permanent installation) we looked at:

  • Slim Panel
  • Net Light
  • Chain (wet location solution and unusual shapes)

The NET Light:

  

An LED system suitbale for back lighting. It can be place behind a variety of diffusers like; glass panel, colored and textured resin, graphic and image panels.

  • Low voltage
  •  variable wattages, changing from 4w to 14w per ft
  • LED Nodes are spaced 24mm apart on board.
  • 3000K up to 6500K.
  • Require 3" to 5" spacing in a cavity.

The Slim Panel:

A 1/2" thick edge-lit slim profile. It can be placed right on top of the application and suitable for tight spacing. (when the 4" to 5" spacing is not available)

  • 4w/ft (standard) and 5w/ft (RGB).
  • Available with LEDs along 1, 2, or 4 sides of perimeter.
  • Available in static, RGB and tunable white.
  • The largest size is 4' x 8'

The Chain:

An LED channel module in 25' trays of 50 LED modules. It is ideal for organic shapes and letter backlighting.

  • 2.4w/ft with 252lm/ft (standard) and 1.4w/ft (RGB).
  • 3000K, 5000K, and 6500K.
  • Available in static white, RGB white.
  • Available as double sided.

From the backlighting complete solution we looked at:

Frame Light:

 

A changeable 3D printed diffuser paired with slim panel. (suitable for signage)

  • 4w/ft (standard) and 5w/ft (RGB).
  • frameless or custom frame option with reveal trim on "Snap Framelight".
  • 3000K up to 5300K

 

Jawn Light:

Wall and ceiling surface mount with edg-lit LED panel and white diffuser

  • variety of shapes. (4' x 8' max size for single sheet)
  • Compatible with individually addressable DMX
  • Available in Dynamic-W, Static-W, and RGB.

Luminous Ceiling and Wall:

A stretched fabric with back lighting system with a custom image and different color temperatures. (the transparency can be adjusted between 50% to 70%)

 

 

 

 

 

Acuity Brand

Today Acuity presented 3 category of their downlights. Aculux, Gothem and Juno. Juno is the economy version, around $130 with manual adjustment for beam control.

The Gothem downlight is the upgraded version of Juno but not with variety of trim option as Aculux has.

Finally, the Aculux has the most bells and whistles with the perfect light spread angle, variety of trims, housings and ease of adjustment and rotation.

 

 

Aculux has the following:

  • 2", 3" and 4" aperture
  • Nichia LED, 3000 delivered lm
  • 95+ CRI on 2700K and 4000K
  • low profile and IC rated housing
  • variety of selection for wet listing such as, Solite lens, spring loaded, Flangless and trimless options
  • a true 60° and 120° light spread, 45° visual cut-off
  • predesignated aiming angle guide
  • 360° rotation of aperture in the housing.

 

Another interesting product which they presented was an LED strip from Juno brand.

Juno Flexconnect with micro optic

Ideal for cove, grazing, washing and other architectural applications made out of flexible and cutable silicone. It is IP67 rated for interior and exterior applications, 15°, 25° and 45°  symmetric distribution, up to 425 lumens per foot, CCT of 2700K, 3000K and 4000K (90 CRI for 2700K and 3000K). The interesting point on this fixture is, the use of moldable silicon which will never change color. It is priced at $13 per foot.

 

 

Luminis

Luminis stopped by today to present their updated products.

 

Prisma

A decorative pendent for general architectural lighting. It comes in 12", 16" and 22" diameter options with sealed heatsink, acrylic reflector or an anodized aluminum reflector, 80 CRI (optional 97 CRI), standard 4000K (optional 2700K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K). It goes from 12W to 136W and delivering 1000 to over 13,000 lumens in 12" model. The modification and customization spec available on website.

 

Scope

A ground, surface and pole mounted fixture with 350° rotation without disturbing the luminaire mounting and an arm for forward and back adjustment. It is available in 3", 6" and 8" lengths,  20°, 45° ,60°  light spread (10°  is coming soon), suitable for wet location, IP66, standard 4000K/80 CRI (2700K to 5000K options)

 

Aramis

It is a decorative ceiling pendant with a frosted acrylic refactor for a general illumination. It has a standard 80 CRI and 4000K color temperature. (optional 3000K to 5000K and 90 CRI.)

The Aramis AR162 has 2 layers of acrylic. A White translucent acrylic diffuser and a clear outer acrylic cylinder. It is available in 12W up to 75W, delivering from 1240 to over 5000 lumens.

 

Lightnet

Lightnet stopped by with four product lines so we could see their updates. The company has in-house LED board manufacturing. Most of the production takes place in Europe and their lead time for on-site delivery including customization (extra 5% add-on for special finishes) is 4-6 weeks globally. All their products have 80 CRI, integral driver, 0-10V (Osram driver programming in house) but are not suitable for wet locations.

 

LIQUID LINE

 

A 2"x2.5" modular LED light system of different forms, curves and connectors with either direct-indirect  or direct only, color temperature range of 2200K up to 6500K and optional 90+ CRI.

There is a limitation of  1.5' for radius in customized shapes.

BASIC

Surface mounted luminaire for ceilings or walls with direct or direct-indirect distribution, Factory-programmable drivers offer 2 standard output levels (Osram), 3000K, 3500K and 4000K.

METRIC

D3 is a surface mounted light line with standard 1.5" extrusion size. Special color temperatures (2700K-6500K) and 90+ CRI

W-1 is a light line for horizontal/vertical mount to wall surface. Direct-/ indirect light distribution with topside dust cover and up to 3 standard output levels.

It also good to remember that Due to great recording and computerized test system on production line they have achieved uniformity in light color in an order batch and possibility to order replacement or additional fixtures to match the currents after a long period.

 

 

Lumenpulse

Lumenpulse stopped by today so we can see the new addition to their Lumenfacade family, the Nano and Nano Horizontal.

The Nano uses a 48V remote power supply, 884 delivered lm2w/ft and 1767 delivered lm on 4w/ft. The Nano Horizontal has 8W regular output. Optics for grazing, floodlighting or wall washing of 1 or 2 story facades and pedestrian uplighting.

  

Both come in 1',2', 3' and 4' in length, dual chamber design, mounting arm with 180 rotation feasibility, varaity of optic such as 8°x8°, 10°x10°, 10°x 90°, 30°x 60°, wide 120° and asymmetric wall-washer and up to 50' cable (not plenum rated). Available in dynamic white, warm white, Amber and RGB. (developing quad chip for cove lighting)

 

Both Nano series have fully integrated accessory, snap-in system. The louver and shield color always matches the fixture color and the shipping in about 6 weeks for custom color and 1 week for quick ship products.

The standard controller is Nicolaudie. They also have Pharos kit (they have reduced the price of Pharos kit from $900 to $200), keypad of Lumenpuls priced at $99 and lumentalk (allow DMX on the system even with 2 wire without rewiring) . Also, all their products are compatible with Lutron since  they have an Eco system card (Lutron chip) to recieve the Lutron signal (there are some exception)

Lumenquad is the updated version of their square shape outdoor lighting. It has a 3.5 in profile with 50W and 100W options, Narrow and Wide optics  which are suitable for wallwash, floodlighting, or street lighting.

Lumencentro is the new Lumenpulse pole, suitable for plaza, campus walkway.

100W, 2200K to 5700K, 70+ and 80+ CRI with up to 20000lm on clearsite lens and 7000lm on softsite lens.
