Day-o-lite has a direct/indirect edge lit fixture that will allow you to specify the percentage of distribution. There is a second diffusing layer on the direct portion of the fixture that eliminates any hot spots from the individual nodes. Most of the products from Dayolite are built with steel housing. This gives them the ability to do more customizations because it eliminates the extra tooling cost that comes with extruded aluminum housings. All of the work is done in house so their fixtures, even the custom ones are cost competitive. They do offer a few extruded aluminum fixtures. The benefit of the extruded aluminum is sharper edges.
The WPPL2 is a recessed linear perimeter light that boasts a 2" opening. The whole fixture is field adjustable including the LED boards. They proved a telescoping end that allows you to adjust up to 10". The LED boards are on the end have a unique overlapping tray that ensures the fixture will not have any dark spots.
We also took a look at their 1'x2' LED troffer, which they also offer as a 1'x4', 2'x2', and a 2'x4'. It has an integral daylight sensor and vacancy sensor. There was a pretty even illumination on the lens of the fixture.
Dayolite offers integral or remote emergency battery packs for their fixtures depending on the size of the housing. The battery packs are provided in standard wattages and the output is based on the efficacy of the fixture.
